Despite what people assume about his species, Arden is a rather calm snake. He generally keeps to himself, unless he has to interact with others. Arden is polite for the most part, but he has little respect for those who do not think for themselves. To him, such people are not worth respecting and he usually saves his brutally honest and snarky comments for them. Arden seldom gets angry, but when he does, he's not to be trifled with. He won't necessarily lash out like other snakes, but he can and will hold a grudge if he feels he has been wronged.

Like others of his species, Arden is a rather heavy-bodied and stocky snake. He is 9 feet long from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. In addition to his olive-green, black and yellow coloration, he has an orange patch on either side of his broad, triangular head. At the edges of these patches are 2 black stripes. As far as far as clothing goes, he tends to favour camo clothing, although the shirts he wears are sleeveless and his shorts look more like kilts so he is able to slither more easily. When working, he wears a khaki uniform consisting of a sleeveless shirt, kilt/shorts and cap.

Arden was born and raised in the Reptile District with his 23 siblings. Despite the large number of siblings and the independent nature of his species, he was not denied love. However, Arden was raised to do things for himself and it was the same for his siblings. As a result, he was not the kind of child that was needy. Arden preferred to find his own fun and that carried over into his school life.

While at school, he had very little in the way of friends. This was not due to bullying, but rather Arden's own disinterest in making friends. Rather than play games such as tag with other children, he often sought out bodies of freshwater and watch the creatures that lived in them. This would later develop into a keen interest in freshwater biology when Arden left school. He knew what he wanted to be and diligently applied himself to his studies. Eventually, Arden became a fully-qualified freshwater biologist and now works as a Fresh Water Specialist.

One of the largest snakes in the world, the green anaconda can reach impressive proportions -- over 30 feet (9.1 m) in length, 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter and more than 550 lbs (250 kg)! Unlike many animals, female anacondas are considerably larger than their male counterparts. Green anacondas are a dark olive-brown with large alternating black spots running down their backs and smaller oval spots with yellow centers along their sides. Their eyes and noses are perched on top of their large heads, allowing them to breathe and see their prey even when submerged in water. Green anacondas are members of the boa family and are a non-venomous snake. They use their teeth and powerful jaws to hold onto their prey while their extremely muscular bodies wrap around their catches to suffocate them or drag them underwater.
